Alto Music proudly presents this unique, standout, vintage-inspired modern showstopper. This early 60s-inspired Tele Custom (w/body binding) is meticulously crafted to deliver the vintage tone, feel, and vibe of the guitar that inspired British Blues/Rock giants like Beck, Clapton, and Page. The 2-piece Ash body is finished in period-correct Shell Pink Nitrocellulose lacquer, faded and weather-checked for the look of a Tele that’s worked for a living over 60-odd years. A tortoise ‘guard, relic bridge plate, control cavity cover, knurled knobs, and clay dot markers add to the aged early 60s look.
Much more than meets the eye, this 60s-inspired Tele has a few surprises in store for the player. To begin with, the AAA dark Rosewood slab board is inlaid with clay dot markers, which vintage enthusiasts would expect to find on a late 59-through 64 board—but the maple neck is countered with a deep “U'' carve found on early 50s Telecasters that starts at a chunky .900” (at the bone nut) up to .999” at the 12th fret. A matched pair of ’51 “No-Caster” pickups in the engine room delivers a bright edge and a sharp attack that sets the '60s reissue apart from the pack. Additionally, this stand-apart Tele sports a modern 9.5” fingerboard radius for deep bends and an unfinished “dirty neck” for fast, smooth playability.
